Bechir Gharbi

Biography:

Bechir Gharbi is a professional Oud player and composer, Professor in Music and Musicology, and Interpretation of Oud. He is a member of the arbitration committee in both national and international competitions and a Member of the Committee Panel of International Competition in Solo Performance on the Oud in Tunisia. Gharbi holds a B.A. at the Higher Institute of Music in Tunis for the Oud instrument and a professorship in Music and Musical Sciences, and a diploma in playing the oud. He obtained an M.A. in 2013, and is currently completing his PHD. Gharbi has performed many concerts winning many awards, he was also honored at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. He has recorded as a solo player on the oud in Opera "Frederico II",along with film “Timbuktu”. During the pandemic (Covid-19), Bechir has participated at The first virtual session of the International festival of Oud organized in Morocco (2020).
