An Iraqi composer, musicologist and oud player, born in (1974), have B.A degree in musical arts from the College of Fine Arts, University of Baghdad, and M.A in musical sciences and a P.H in musical arts philosophy.

 

He led many orchestras and worked in the academic field as a teacher of musical curricula and lecturer for playing the lute in many institutes and schools of music, and a teacher of solfege and hearing education at the Faculty of Fine Arts/ University of Baghdad and Salah Al-Deen University, he was assigned the duties of technical assistant for the Institute of Music Studies and acting director of the institute.

 

Dr. Duraid assumed many cultural duties as well as wrote studies in the musical sciences and articles on musical criticism, he has contributed to drafting the bylaws for many musical institutions, and drafted restrictions and obligations in the field of phonogram and musical rights in Iraq.

 

He was awarded the International Leaders Certificate issued by the US State Department. He has founded “ Dijla Center” for Comparative Music Studies.Dr. Fadil planned and led the project (Music from Iraq) by recording ten musical CDs documenting the most important sources of Iraqi musical legacies. Obtained shields and certificates of appreciation from educational, scientific and cultural institutions. He has wrote soundtracks for many feature films, documentaries, and television programs. Dr. Duraid is keen to be active in organizing cultural seminars dealing with the musical arts In addition to many artistic and cultural participations in many international and local festivals.
