Fateen Kanaan is a Syrian oud player who grew up in an art and music loving family, Fateen was influenced by the Turkish school and in particular by the Iraqi school of instrumental music and it’s leading players such as Munir Bashir, Jamil Bashir and Naseer Shamma so he became familiar with many of the Iraqi Maqam rules, Fateen started his instrumental education in the Arab Oud House in Abu Dhabi in 2013, during his study he was tutored by a skilled oud masters with the supervision of Mr. Naseer Shamma, he graduated in 2015 with an excellent grade , Fateen is currently teaching at the Arab Oud House since the beginning of 2016. Fateen participated in several concerts in Syria and UAE, he participated also in many musical festivals as he played with international musicians.
