Naochika Sogabe is a Japanese is an Oud and Lute player / composer, he was born in Japan and took his first music lessons at the age of 5. He began to play on the stage as rock/jazz-guitarist at 15. And at 16 winning the guitarist prize at Yamaha Midland Festival in Nagoya/Japan. A year later he recorded his first album. He studied historical music of Europe and music ethnology at the Cologne University of Music (Germany) and Royal Conservatory of the Hague (Netherlands). his compositions represent modern style music for oud and lute (historical European oud). In his works, he combines opposing matters – historical/traditional instrument and modern music, east and west etc. Since 2006 he produces original compositions and distributes them worldwide. About 100 pieces are available now. He also releases music-videos on YouTube regularly.
