Nehad El-Sayed
Biography:
Nehad El-Sayed is an Egyptian-Swiss Oud player and composer. Born in 1975, and began studying the Oud at the age of 16. Having studied at the Ramses Higher Institute of Arabic Music for Free Studies and at Oud House of Cairo where he graduated as soloist with honors and was later appointed an assistant head of the institute. He later studied at the Higher Institute of Arts in the Switzerland and obtained a BA and MA in composition music, in addition to jazz and electronic media. He has won many prizes and certificates of appreciation for his participation and efforts in teaching, participated in several music festivals in the with the Oud House Orchestra and the Oyoun Band, he has also Supervised and participated in many musical and cultural projects. Has three albums: “El Sakia” “Khoyot" “Now” whilst also composing for numerous orchestras. He currently teaches Arabic music and Oud at the Basel Music Academy and the Bell Conservatory in addition to his work as a solist player and composer.
